Throughout my career in film, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects spanning from documentaries to commercials, TV shows to music videos, infomercials to art films. I’ve loved the unique challenges and perks of each project: climbing several stories up scaffolding with a RED camera in hand, spending days filming in the dark underbelly of a water treatment facility, traveling internationally with a cart full of gear, and dining with our documentary subjects in small towns I would otherwise probably never find myself. These experiences have deeply shaped the person I am and the perspective I bring.

Between my freelance career and the 6 years I spent working at a creative agency, I have a versatile set of skills. The majority of my career has been as Director or DP on set and Editor in post, yet I also have extensive experience as Producer, Gaffer, AC, and Colorist.

Documentaries

While at Belief Agency, a large portion of our work was short, branded documentaries for our clients. We would hold pre-interviews, develop story beats, then travel to our subjects and over the course of a couple days to a couple weeks run interviews and capture b-roll.

Us Against the World: A Washington Rowing Legacy tells the story of a University of Washington rowing crew who developed such a remarkable cadence that they qualified—against all odds—for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

One young man in particular—Joe Rantz—found trust among his teammates, despite a life of hardship and abandonment. Us Against the World: A Washington Rowing Legacy is narrated by Jennifer Huffman, the granddaughter of Joe Rantz—who continues to benefit from Joe's life lessons to this day.
